The flower lady lived down below,
Between the coffee shop and greasy spoon.
Add some flowers to my morning cup o’ Joe!
They greet me with a soft Hello.
One season a machine came
To pluck the flowers
To remove the lady.
Their peaceful glimmers were replaced.
A silver monster bolted in their place.
The victor beamed proud.
I have stolen this precious space!
My heart sunk to my feet, betrayed.
Where did you take her?
Flower Lady
Why do you want to break her?
She’s not your lady!
I travel a new path to avoid the monster.
The station glows white, busy with people.
They walk against plastic and glass
in the only space left.
In the only space
In the only space left
Ads mutate, grow over my head.
But still, I remember her fondly.
